Jazz Air, Fumes in Cabin

A Jazz de Havilland Dash 8-300, registration C-FADF performing flight QK-8297 from Winnipeg,MB to Saskatoon,SK (Canada) with 50 passengers and 3 crew, was climbing out of Winnipeg when the lavatory smoke alarm sounded followed by the smell of fumes. The crew stopped the climb at about 10,000 feet, declared emergency and returned to Winnipeg for a safe landing about 16 minutes after departure. The Canadian TSB reported the source of the alarm and the fumes could not be determined. The aircraft was ferried to Calgary,AB (Canada) for further inspection.
